Getting to the Sugar Shack
Discover Canada’s only urban sugar shack
Located less than 5 km from downtown Ottawa, the Vanier Sugar Shack is the only operating urban sugar shack in the country. Nestled in a 17.5-acre maple forest in the heart of the nation’s capital, the Vanier Museopark keeps alive the maple season traditions established in Vanier since 1939 by the White Fathers, missionaries in Africa.
The Vanier Sugar Shack is now CLOSED for the maple syrup season. However, it remains available for private event rentals (weddings, receptions, and other special occasions).
