This traveling exhibition is an initiative of the Kamouraska Regional Museum that deals with the status of women in the early 20th century through a collection of hats. Linked to a lack of certain legal rights for women, hats are used to convey various information such as the identity of the owner, personality, originality, social status or fantasy.

The history of the status of women is explored under eight themes:

  • femininity,
  • maternity,
  • the sensuality,
  • modernism,
  • bravery,
  • creativity,
  • spirituality,
  • emancipation

The 5 women around which the exhibition is built come from different provinces and territories in Canada.
