It is with great pleasure that the Vanier Museopark announces the in-person return of the Soup(e) Splash for a 16th edition this year as part of the 2023 Sugar Festival activities!

• WHEN: Monday, March 27 at 5:30 p.m.
• WHERE: Kiwanis Hall at the Richelieu-Vanier Centre (300 des Pères-Blancs Ave.)

After the dazzling success of the “take-out” formula used in the last few years, we are pleased to offer restaurateurs and our loyal participants the chance to get together for an evening full of flavors with maple syrup in the spotlight!

Each year, this friendly culinary competition brings together 8 Ottawa-area restaurateurs who compete in creating an original soup with maple syrup as a mandatory ingredient.

The Soup(e) Splash is always a highly anticipated event at the Sugar Festival while being its only fundraiser. You can get your tickets here or by clicking on the button on the menu on the right side of this page. Hurry, tickets are limited!

Your ticket to the 16th annual Soup(e) Splash includes:

• Access to the welcome reception with small hors d’oeuvres prepared by the sugar shack’s new chef;
• Tasting of 8 wonderful soups featuring maple syrup;
• The ingredient list for each soup;
• A bun from the local bakery Bread & Roses;
• 1 voting card to determine the “Public’s Favorite” prize;
• An evening with lots of atmosphere and the chance to chat with passionate local restaurateurs;
• A good maple taffy for dessert to end the evening the sugar shack way!

Throughout the evening, you will also be able to buy your drinks at the Soup(e) Splash bar (wine, soft drinks, water) or at the bar of the official brewery of the Sugar Festival, Orléans Brewing Co.

A dynamic jury for the 16th edition!

Two prizes are awarded to restaurateurs in the Soup(e) Splash culinary competition: the “Public’s Favorite” and the “Jury’s Favorite”. This year, the jury will be composed of:

• Claude Andrea Bonny, Host of the talkshow Entre nous, tv Rogers;
• Phil Cameron, Chef and President of the Ottawa Culinary Federation;
• Martin Laporte, Cultural Animator for the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est and member of the humoristic group Improtéine;
• Jonathan Paquette, Dean of Research and Creation, UQO (Université du Québec en Outaouais);
• Stéphanie Plante, City Councillor for Rideau-Vanier.

By coming to the Soup(e) Splash, you will also have the chance to purchase raffle tickets. At the end of the evening, you could be one of the lucky winners of these fabulous prizes:
